Barro-Lee: Percentage of population age 45-49 with no education

The Barro–Lee indicator measures the share of people aged 45–49 who have received no formal education, expressed as a percentage of that age group’s population. It is a measure of educational attainment rather than current school enrolment. Because it concerns an adult cohort, the figure reflects the schooling opportunities available during the group’s formative years and can be used in comparisons of education levels and human capital across countries or over time.
