Number of Exporters per Destination: Median is the median number of firms from a reporting country that export to each foreign destination in a given year. It is calculated across the destination markets recorded in exporter-level customs data: half of the destinations have no more exporters than the median, and half have no fewer. The indicator describes the typical number of exporters serving an individual market, rather than total exports or the number of exporting firms overall. Compared with an arithmetic mean, the median is less affected by destinations served by unusually large numbers of firms.
