Stop (stop)
In older documents relating to the financial market, as well as in telegrams (dispatches; cables), a word which expresses that a point as punctuation character is to be placed at this point. It is not – as is sometimes read – the cancellation of an order. – See stop order, cancellation.

In älteren auf den Finanzmarkt bezüglichen Dokumenten sowie auch in Telegrammen (Depeschen; cables) ein Wort, welches ausdrückt, dass an diese Stelle ein Punkt als Satzzeichen (point as punctation character) zu setzen sei. Es wird also nicht – wie manchmal zu lesen ist – die Annullierung eines Auftrags (cancellation of an order) verfügt. – Siehe Stop-Auftrag, Storno.
