Seminary due
Payment for attendance at a teachers’ seminary, where elementary school teachers were trained in most parts of Germany from the end of the 18th century. The candidates were prepared for their profession there in a two- to three-year course and also regularly lived in the seminary building. – Pedagogical academies with four-semester courses for teachers were established in Germany from around 1920; these gradually merged with universities around 1970. – In the Catholic Church, a levy (seminaristicum, alumnaticum, also TAXA CONCILIARIS) allowed by the Council of Trent in 1563, which a bishop may collect from parishes for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a diocesan seminary as an institution for the training of candidates for the priesthood. – See indulgence money, annuities, dispensational money, cathedral money, church money, offering money, St. Peter’s penny, procuration money, school money, title church maintenance money.

Betaling voor het bijwonen van een onderwijzerseminarie, waar vanaf het einde van de 18e eeuw in de meeste delen van Duitsland de opleiding van onderwijzers in het lager onderwijs plaatsvond. De kandidaten werden daar in een twee- tot driejarige cursus voorbereid op hun professie en woonden ook regelmatig in het seminariegebouw. – Vanaf ongeveer 1920 werden in Duitsland pedagogische academies met vier semestercursussen voor leraren opgericht; deze fuseerden geleidelijk met universiteiten rond 1970. – In de katholieke kerk, een heffing (Seminaristicum, Alumnaticum, ook TAXA CONCILIARIS) goedgekeurd door het Concilie van Trente in 1563, die een bisschop kan innen bij de parochies met het oog op de oprichting en instandhouding van een diocesaan seminarie als instelling voor de opleiding van kandidaten voor het priesterschap. – Zie aflaatgeld, annuïteiten, dispensatiegeld, kathedraalgeld, kerkgeld, offergeld, Sint-Pieters pence, procuratiegeld, schoolgeld, titel kerkonderhoudsgeld.
