Semester, European semester (semester from Latin semestris = sixmonthly)

Procedure applied for the first time by the European Commission in 2014, in which – close monitoring of the financial and economic policies of each member country is carried out and, on the basis of this, – economic policy recommendations are made; specific deadlines apply to their implementation.
