In statistics, usually the generic term for private bankers, regional banks and specialized banks. In Germany, these institutions are monitored with a special eye by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) because serious supervisory complaints have repeatedly been recorded here. – See autobank, bank, banker, sole proprietorship, banking, corporate bank, front desk, fee-back guarantee, bearer check, private banker. – Cf. 2004 Annual Report of BaFin, pp. 116 f.
