First-time acquirer (first taker)

Economic entities that take a security issued for the first time into their portfolio. Regulators and/or central banks usually publish statistics on the first placing of securities. – See issuance, candy, bought deal, client effect, concert underwriter, underwriter, secondary placement. – See the annex “Euro area statistics,” section “Financial markets” in the respective ECB Monthly Bulletin; there, finely disaggregated figures.
