Financier, provider of capital, usually in a larger project (an investor on a large scale). – In older literature also a person who manages income at a company or at a public body. – In financial journalism, since about 2005, also often said in reference to those members of EMU that take financial aid from richer states of the community – such as Germany and the Netherlands in particular – often called europayers. – See bail-out, hegemon, lenient, cost-taking agreement, penny-pincher, southern front, paymaster.
