In the broader sense, all services provided by the construction industry in a given area during a given period. – In the narrower sense, housing construction, namely the construction, conversion and modernization of residential buildings, including freehold flats and owner-occupied flats. Residential construction in this sense is an industry quite susceptible to cyclical trends, especially in countries with high rural depopulation and increasing urbanization.
