Warehouse loan (credit designed to meet storage charges)
Loans granted by banks, especially to crop wholesale buyers and merchandise importers, to store goods until they are sold. Financing is still frequently provided in the form of a storage bill.
Warehouse receipt: A certificate issued by a warehousing enterprise recognized by an exchange stating that the holder of the document has a certain quantity of stored goods (a document attesting possession of a commodity in a licensed warehouse that is recognized for delivery purposes by an exchange). – See commodity certificate.
