Share index for twenty Swiss blue chips. In mid-2010, the three companies Novartis, Nestlé and Roche accounted for more than 60 percent of the index, followed by the two major banks Credit Suisse and UBS with a combined 13.6 percent. The Swiss stock market is thus very strongly dominated by these three companies, which thus have an excessive influence on stock market activity and consequently overweight the risks for investors related to the respective individual company. In the share indices of the European stock exchanges and also in the comparable Dow Jones Index in the USA, the large companies are only represented to just under twenty percent. – See share index, Dax, Dow Jones Average, price index, Nemax, performance index, Swiss Finish, Xetra.
