Theorem named after the French economist Jean-Baptiste Say (1767-1832). According to Say’s law, every supply creates its own demand, i.e. a market equilibrium is always reached. – The economic literature is rich in discussions of the implied conditions of this theorem. Today, there is widespread agreement that Say’s Law is valid only in one particular case, namely, when investment is equal to savings at full production potential.
