Rate of borrowing customer

Percentage breakdown of borrowers in total, either from a single bank or from credit institutions within a country. – Breakdown of loans to enterprises usually by size of enterprise, and here then counted by number of employees. This figure is monitored by most central banks and evaluated by the ECB under the two-pillar principle. The rate in this sense in Germany [UK/Switzerland] in 2004 was 43 percent [55 percent/35 percent] for – microenterprises (mircoenterprises: 1 to 9 employees), – small enterprises (small firms: 10 to 49 employees) 37 percent [40 percent/47 percent]. For the U.S., the rate of loan customers is not known. – The claim that banks have little weight in business financing cannot be substantiated by these data. – See bad bank, credit rating class, middle market bank, ranking theory, corporate lending.
