In general, the history of money as a historical auxiliary science dealing with past means of payment (the science of coins, tokens, medals, paper money, and objects closely resembling them in form or purpose). In the course of this, it is also devoted to the earlier theories of money and the calculation of the purchasing power of old money. – In a narrower sense, the study of all circumstances of past (coin) money. – Epitome of collecting old coins and medals.
