Money rate
In a broad sense, the price at which any means of payment is traded on the market: the interest rate. – The interest rate at which the central bank makes its monopoly money available to institutions. – The market rate applicable to short-term loans (the interest rate on a loan with a maturity of several days to just under a year). The respective rates are shown in the “Euro area statistics” part of the “Financial markets” section of the respective ECB Monthly Bulletin and are sometimes compared with the corresponding rates in the United States and Japan. – See cash, liquidation, money market rates, money market segments, liquidity, liquidity provision, liquidity coefficient, liquidity premium theory, liquidity ratio, central bank money.
