Around 2012, a derogatory term was used by “persons engaged in the cultural sector” (cultural producers) against the representatives of economic reason, who advocate an undiminished measure of money. It was claimed – among other things in public appeals – that the political and cultural growing together of Europe would be prevented by “sticking to dogmatic positions” on the stability of the EUR. The extent to which an inflationary EUR is a bridge to European unity is, of course, not explained in detail. – Nor is it at all clear why more cultural achievements should suddenly sprout from a large European area. Without forgetting others: Johann Wolfgang Goethe turned a sleepy provincial town into a cultural center of Europe, Immanuel Kant brought the remote Königsberg to worldwide reputation, and Esterházy Castle would be only one building among many without Joseph Haydn. The cultural identity of Europe is unity in diversity, openness and competition. Therefore, it is hard to see why the repeated demand for a European Ministry of Culture should be given in. – A European cultural bureaucracy is the last thing Europe needs. Europe’s political importance in the world depends first and foremost on its economic success. Its necessary condition, however, is stable money. In the end, this has always proved to be the best way to promote culture. – See Europhobia, Hawk, Money, Moral, Money Consciousness, Money People, Money Value Stability, Money Purpose, Hellenism, Inflation, Inflation Tax, Nominal Value Principle
