Disparaging term used by some German politicians and union officials for hedge funds. – As business journalists have revealed, almost all critics of hedge funds using this term have virtually no idea of how the funds work, especially: providing venture capital; putting pressure on the often incompetent management of the controlled companies to regain a foothold in the market and thus secure the jobs of the employees. – See restructuring.
