If not defined otherwise, the special fund of a capital management company, which is partly fed by public funds and partly by deposits of private economic entities – usually only banks – and in German legal language called Öffentlich-Privater Partnerschaftsfonds (ÖPP; publicprivate partnership fund). – The primary purpose of such a fund is – to finance certain projects, especially in road construction and the construction of school buildings and sports facilities, and – also to manage the facilities created appropriately. – See public-private partnerships. – Cf. 2006 BaFin Annual Report, p. 147 (facilitations for PPP funds), 2007 BaFin Annual Report, p. 155 (facilitations in the wake of the Investment Amendment Act).
