In relation to the financial market, a point at which masses of transactions (on a huge scale) meet and branch out. Nodes in this sense are primarily stock exchanges and central counterparties. Their characteristic features require special monitoring by supervisory authorities. – See default risk, credit default swap, euro general collateral pooling, Eurex Credit Clear, general collateral repos, group of affiliated customers, correlation risk, special, pooling of collateral. – Cf.
