Fee paid to the general-average adjuster, also known as the average adjuster (not dispatcher, because in the transportation industry this refers to an operations manager, vehicle dispatcher): a freelance specialist who records, evaluates and allocates to the parties involved in the shipping accident, such as shipowners, consignors and insurers, damage to persons, watercraft, cargo, the environment, etc., on behalf of those affected. – and allocates the costs to the parties involved in the shipping accident, such as the shipowner, the shipper and the insurance company. The property settlement of an average is referred to as average in the German Commercial Code. – The damage distribution plan prepared by the general average adjuster is called a general average statement, and the work of the general average adjuster is also called adjusting the average.
