Double dip (also referred to in German)

The external value of a currency slips, and at the same time, or as a reaction to this, domestic share prices fall overall. – In economies with a high dependence on exports and imports, this is interpreted as a sign of a downward trend if it persists over a longer period of time. However, it is always necessary to take into account the assets held abroad by the economy in question, such as the USA.
