Closing price (closing range; closing quotation, also just close; closing rate)
Price range within the last two minutes of a trading session. – The last quoted price for a particular security during a trading session (the last price a security traded at the end of the trading day), as opposed to the open price. – According to IAS (21.7), the price quoted on the foreign exchange market at the time the balance sheet is prepared, or
– where no exchange prices are available – exchange rate of a currency determined by other means. – On many exchanges, the official closing price is calculated from the average of the prices obtained within that period. – See gap, quotation, variable, reference price, estimated value, bar chart, end-of-day value.
