Bank interlocking

Auch in: DE FR

Interconnection between legally independent banks in a country, irrespective of whether they are grouped together under a holding company (group) or not. – Cross-border integration in the banking sector, as is particularly prevalent in some EU countries – a very high proportion of banks are currently foreign-owned in Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. A “Europeanization” of the banking sector within the EU is expected – in whatever way – in the further future. – See alliances, cross-border, foreign banks, bank size, optimal, banking supervision, European, bank unbundling, German, bank mergers, Europa-AG, Sifi oligopoly.
