Bank, ecclesiastical (church bank)

Auch in: DE FR

An institution owned by a church and usually limited in its business orientation to the faithful of the church. – In Germany, the Catholic Pax-Bank, founded in Cologne in 1917, has achieved supraregional importance. In addition, the Evangelische Kreditgenossenschaft, founded in 1972 and headquartered in Kassel, and the Bank im Bistum Essen, established in 1966, also operate beyond a local area. The same applies to Steyler Bank, founded by the Catholic Steyler missionaries and operating on the market in 1964, with the institution’s headquarters in Sankt Augustin (near Bonn). – See churn rate, alternative bank, investment, ethical, relationship banking, clubbing, geomarketing, banking, customer loyalty, networking.
