Motor insurers (car insurance)

In Germany, these companies, which are important for the financial market due to the regular payment of premiums and the investment of assets, are subject to supervision by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). The authority also examines their solvency in stress tests. – Statistically, motor vehicle accident insurance has been included in the accident insurers in Germany since 2005. – Cf. 2012 statistics of BaFin (primary insurance companies and pension funds), here important information and overviews, also on liability insurance for vehicles and of the BaFin statistical report for the respective year.
