Export Value per Entrant: First Quartile is the 25th percentile of export values recorded for exporters entering a country’s export market in a given year. It indicates the export value below which one quarter of entrant exporters fall, while three quarters have values at or above it. The measure is calculated from exporter-level customs data and describes the lower end of the distribution among new exporters. It should not be confused with total exports divided by the number of entrants: the first-quartile indicator reflects the distribution of export values across individual entrants rather than their average.
