Youth employment outside education for ages 15–24 measures the proportion of the entire age cohort that is working and not attending school. Since the calculation uses all young people in this age group as its reference population, it is not restricted to those participating in the labour force. Individuals who combine schooling with a job are excluded. The indicator allows employment among young people outside education to be compared across populations or over time.
