A company in which, in a business premises or via web-based technology – that is: based on, working with, the World Wide Web – travel is conventionally – arranged, – tickets are sold, – bookings are taken, and – advice is provided on destinations and itineraries of a trip. Such companies are not subject to regulatory licensing. However, as soon as insurance is offered in connection with these business areas, this is considered insurance brokerage and is subject to the corresponding supervisory regulations. The procurement of travel visas for customers also requires a special permit.
