Tax consultancy (tax counselling)

Auch in: IT NL

In Germany, banks are prohibited by the applicable Tax Advisory Act (StBerG) from providing advice to customers on the tax treatment of transactions. An exception applies only insofar as, according to § 4 StBerG, custodians and administrators of third-party assets or assets transferred in trust or for security purposes may provide corresponding information. Almost all financial plans, savings formulas, etc. therefore also very rarely take into account the tax implications. They are therefore always to be used only conditionally. – In Switzerland, banks usually have a very influential and efficient tax department. This department provides information at all levels of the company and hierarchy about the tax implications, including, for example, of planned new financial products, and works closely with external local tax advisors worldwide. Corresponding knowledge is offered to the customer on request. – See financial mathematics, gnomes of Zurich, tax advice, theorists, interest island.
