Risk Assessment System, RAS (so also in German)

System developed by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority and the Deutsche Bundesbank for the early identification and assessment of banks’ risks. The focus is on a comparative overview that allows an individual bank to compare itself with its peers relatively quickly and accurately. – See Risk culture, Risk management, Twelve-field risk matrix. – Cf. BaFin Annual Report 2004, p. 104 (early identification of problem institutions), BaFin Annual Report 2006, p. 67 (results of risk classification) and the respective BaFin Annual Report.
