Raw material financing

The provision of money to – discover (prospect; discover), – mine (to quarry, to mine), and also – distribute and transport extracted raw materials. – At the end of 2010, about sixty percent of the world’s commodity financing was handled from Switzerland, with a focus on Geneva. There, in addition to the energy products crude oil, coal and electricity, grain, oilseeds and sugar, together with the necessary cargo capacities (carrying capacities) by sea and land, are procured by internationally active institutions and, as a rule, trading houses associated with them. – See Agribulk, Commodity Trade Finance.
