Odd lot also called fractional lot (also often used in German; sometimes also

Kleinmenge and Fraktion): Stock exchange order in which the number of securities to be bought or sold is small; in the U.S. usually less than one hundred shares or, in a narrow market, ten shares, then called a round lot and even lot (share bought or sold in amounts less that the usual 100-share multiples). Banks or stockbrokers charge higher fees for such “crooked lots”. – Term for residual items in securities trading. – See all-or-nothing order, rounding off, job lot, minimum close, quotation, variable, odd lot surcharge.
