In general, a purposeful action in the form of doing or not doing something. – In the context of monetary policy, the use of a central bank instrument. The measure is in line with market conditions if it does not directly affect the price-quantity mechanism of the market. The central bank merely changes certain data (supply of money, interest) to induce economic agents to behave in a desired manner. – In relation to the financial market, orders issued by the supervisory authority or the monitoring body at the stock exchange to counter irregular actions with the aim of ensuring the smooth functioning of supply and demand. – See fine, market mechanism, special audit, warning.
