Majorization and stagging

When issuing securities with expected limited allotment – demand exceeds supply – subscribers quote higher amounts in order to – obtain the quantity actually targeted or – sell the security immediately on the oversubscribed market at a profit (the practice of buying initial public offerings at the offering price and then reselling them once trading has begun, usually for a substantial profit). – See order delay, concert underwriter, over-allotment option, rebbes, securities allotment information, oversubscription, subscription, secondary offering.
