Lidlgeld (day laborer pay)

In older documents, the (customary) payment received by a Lidl (Tagelöhner, Mietling, Heuerling; hireling: an unskilled worker hired and waged by the day; in modern English the word “hireling” generally is used derogatory: a person who is willing to perform unpleasant or even illegal tasks for people in order to earn money). – See Madergeld, Salär.
