High-risk countries (often used in German; more rarely, high-risk states)
Countries and territories (jurisdictions) that do not cooperate with the supervisory authorities and in which, in particular, money laundering is hardly or not at all prosecuted. The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) maintains a list of such suspect countries; this list is updated on an ongoing basis and is available on the institution’s website. In addition, the supervisory authorities in particular examine very closely whether domestic institutions maintain business relations with such non-cooperating countries or whether and, if so, which transactions took place. – See Supervision, Indirect, Cold Calling, Dingo Values, Domicile Concealment, Financial Action Task Force on Money
