Insofar as units of account were expressed in gold denominations – such as: gold francs – these are now linked to the Special Drawing Right, i.e. – to a basket of currencies, – which the International Monetary Fund compiles according to various criteria and – reviews from time to time with regard to the quantity of currencies included therein and their weight. – Cf. the relevant reference figures in the Bundesbank’s quarterly booklet “Devisenkursstatistik” (“Exchange Rate Statistics”), under the heading “Übersicht über die Währungen der Welt” (“Overview of World Currencies”).
