Giropay (also in German)
An innovative payment procedure in Internet commerce in which the customer is taken directly from the Internet merchant’s checkout to the online portal of his or her bank. Immediately after the transfer is executed, the merchant automatically receives a payment confirmation. – See Billpoint, Bitcoins, online banking, PayPal, Payez Mobile. – Cf. Monthly Report of the Deutsche Bundesbank of December 2006, p. 96 et seq. (presentation of this and other payment methods; many overviews), Monthly Report of the Deutsche Bundesbank of July 2009, p. 62 et seq. (progress in innovative payment methods in general; isolated applications inhibit the use of new payment methods).
