Any sum of money at all; monetary capital, cash resources. – More rarely also: the value of an asset expressed in money, as it is assessed in business accounting. – The term is common in older national economics – conversion of formal capital as “abstract economic potential” into real capital and justification of interest. – See monetary capital formation, capital, wealth, interest allocation function.
