Finance trash
In economic journalism and in politically influenced accusatory literature against the financial system, a common expression referring to opaque financial instruments (allegedly and often not understood by the authors in their mode of operation), including offers (including real estate) put on the financial market by reputable providers, which turn out to be a flop (failure, letdown) and drive the buyer into financial distress, if not into insolvency. – See financial architecture, financial vultures, glamour stocks, financial instrument information sheets, Internet offering, make-up, misochrematics, nonvaleurs, avenging angels, snake dealing, angle brokers.
