Developer (also usually used in German, more rarely Erschliesser)

Unless otherwise defined, in the real estate industry this is understood to mean a company under private or public law – and then usually municipal or state-owned – which – plans major commercial and private construction projects, – has them built for its own account, and – then sells them to purchasers. – Experts are involved in all stages of financing and cooperate with the respective institutions in real estate banking over a long period of time, often over decades. This long-term (noncurrent) cooperation reduces the collateral risk. – See cost, avoided, landmark building loan, project finance, real collateral, real estate collateral.
