Collection time and collection delay (bank collection float, banking delay)

The duration between the deposit at the bank of a check accepted for payment by a third party and the crediting of the amount by the institution to the depositor’s account (the time that passes between when a check is deposited into a bank account and when the sum is available to the depositor, during which period the bank is collecting payment from the payer’s bank). – See collection, cashing, check availability block.
