Capital, dedicated (dedicated capital)

A sum of money accumulated for the purpose of carrying out a special purpose; in the case of a company, often to finance a takeover. – The equity and debt capital employed in a business to the extent necessary to carry out the purpose of the business; sometimes called operating capital. – In the case of a stock corporation, the par value of all issued shares (the total par value of the shares; the initial price of the shares when they are issued). – See Mergers and acquisitions.
