Bubble economy (so mostly also said in German, rarely air base economy)

In an economy, overall spending is high and stock prices are also rising, although the companies were hardly making any profits and the banks – without knowing it – are sitting on bad loans. In this sense, the term became widespread with the financial crisis in Japan around 1999. – An economy in which demand is conspicuously directed toward certain goods, such as cigarettes and alcohol, and services, such as love-making [prostitution] or traveling around by addiction), which are classified as ungoods, i.e., goods that harm the individual and thus society now or later. – Cf. ECB Monthly Bulletin, February 2012, p. 87 ff. (economic stagnation phase in Japan).
