Acting, covertly joint (arm’s length acting)
Any type of transaction in the financial market, including buy and sell recommendations in electronic platforms, in which two or more related entities act as if they were different entities (transactions where two or more related entities have nevertheless acted as if they had no pre-existing relationships). Usually, the objective of such action is some form of market manipulation. It is very difficult for regulators to detect such trades even after the fact. – See share buyback, deuteroscopy, trades, collusive, field hockey stick offer, internet forums, price manipulation, market manipulation, cross-border, pairoff, prearranged trading, trend trading, confidentiality agreement.
