Refugee money and flight capital

Capital that investors deposit in certain countries – such as Switzerland – in whose political stability and legal system they have confidence, and in which, above all, banking secrecy is firmly anchored. – However, information about accounts held by German citizens abroad may be obtained by the German secret service (Bundesnachrichtendienst; Federal Intelligence Service), as happened in February 2008 with regard to the Principality of Lichtenstein. The German public took this in stride, and hardly anyone cared about this obvious infringement. – See bank information, cash control, observation note, financial embargo, money home, money, hot, money laundering, haven, safer, Helvetophobia, account disclosure, emergency time facilities, registration obligation, confidentiality, interest island, second identity card.
