Financial report
Since the beginning of 2007, the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has also been responsible for monitoring compliance with all regulations governing the financial reporting obligations of capital market-oriented companies. This applies to – the annual financial report as well as – the half-yearly financial report, – the interim management statement, which was abolished when the amendment to the Transparency Directive came into force in November 2013, – announcements and – the quarterly financial report, for which publication deadlines are prescribed. Also – a responsibility statement pursuant to sections 264 and 289 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) (balance sheet oath) must be published. – The Transparency Directive Implementation Act (TUG) of January 5, 2007 had expanded the existing reporting obligations and transferred them to the WpHG (§ 37 v et seq.). – See enforcement, financial report, uniform electronic format, information overload, annual financial report. – See BaFin Annual Report 2007, pp. 201 et seq.
