Express delivery charge (urgency surcharge)

The surcharge for the fact that a customer wants to obtain a good or service as quickly as possible, outside the normal run of business. – Especially in older documents in the meaning that craftsmen on certain occasions such as bereavement (here: tailors, coffin carpenters) may exceed working hours prescribed by the guild rules and demand a special payment from the client.
