In Germany, decentralized authorities located at the respective head finance office; their responsibility is basically based on the territorial principle. In addition to payment transactions for all federal authorities, the tasks of a federal cash office described in detail in the Bundeshaushaltsordnung (Federal Budget Code) include, in particular, accounting for payments made and accepted and the presentation of accounts after the books have been closed for the past financial year (Section 70 ff.
