Term Auction Facility, TAF (also used in German)
Liquidity-providing procedure introduced by the U.S. Federal Reserve System in the wake of the subprime crisis. It is similar to the ECB’s tender procedure. However, the list of collateral to be deposited by the banks is broader – i.e. less stringent – than that of the ECB. The term of a transaction is normally twenty-eight days.
